John Wetzel is running for the Michigan Senate to protect opportunity, strengthen families, and support the small businesses that power our communities.
John Wetzel is a lifelong West Michigan resident, business owner, and community leader who believes Michigan’s best days are ahead.
Born and raised in Rockford, John graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Business & Information Systems. After working in the corporate world, he built his own business from the ground up.
For over 20 years, John has led Pure POS, Inc., a Michigan-based company serving hundreds of hospitality businesses across the Midwest. His experience working alongside restaurant owners and entrepreneurs gives him real-world insight into the challenges facing Michigan families and small businesses.
John isn’t a career politician, he’s a problem solver who understands budgets, job creation, and what it takes to grow something from nothing.
John comes from a hardworking family deeply rooted in West Michigan — small business owners, factory workers, public servants, and community members who believed in showing up and doing the work.

Michigan families don’t need more speeches, they need solutions. John is focused on practical policies that strengthen our economy, support small businesses, and protect the communities we call home.
